Exemplary Christian Life

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?

But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.(1º Peter 3:8-17 KJV - Emphasis mine)

Fasting that pleases God

-Wherefore have we fasted, and thou seest not; have afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find what pleaseth {you}, and exact all your labours. Behold, ye have fasted for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness; ye do not at present fast, to cause your voice to be heard on high. Is such the fast that I have chosen, a day for a man to afflict his soul, -that he should bow down his head as a bulrush, and spread sackcloth and ashes {under him}? Wilt thou call this a fast, and a day acceptable to Yahweh? Is not this the fast which I have chosen: to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the thongs of the yoke, and to send forth free the crushed, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring to thy house the needy wanderers; when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Then shall thy light break forth as the dawn, and thy health shall spring forth speedily; and thy righteousness shall go before thee, the glory of Yahweh shall be thy rearguard. Then shalt thou call, and Yahweh will answer; thou shalt cry, and he will say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger and the unjust speech, and thou proffer thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul: then shall thy light rise in the darkness, and thine obscurity be as midday; and Yahweh will guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and strengthen thy bones; and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a water-spring, whose waters deceive not... ...Behold, Yahweh's hand is not shortened that it cannot save, neither his ear heavy that it cannot hear; but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid {his} face from you, that he doth not hear.(Isaiah 58:3-11; 59:1-2 DBY)

THE TREE AND ITS FRUITS/A ÁRVORE E SEUS FRUTOS

The tree and its fruit
In the parable of the sower Jesus makes it clear that only two seeds revenge. But only one has borne fruit because the other grew among thorns, which means concerns about things from the world. Reminds me of the fig tree beside the road to Bethany: Beautiful tree, but no fruit. Jesus cursed it and it dried up from the root. Hey pay attention, the ax is the root of the tree and one that does not produce fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire! The fruit is important because it bears the characteristics of the tree that produced it. That is why the Lord Jesus said, "By the fruits you shall know them! The fruit we produce is the testimony that we give to the world that we are Christ, and we are followers of Christ, so we are called Christians. We witnessed this with the way we live. But if we fill our hearts with concerns about the things of this world, our witness will be affected!

A ÁRVORE E SEU FRUTO
Na parábola do Semeador Jesus deixa claro que somente duas sementes vingaram. Mas só uma produziu frutos porque a outra cresceu entre os espinheiros, que significa as preocupações com as coisas desde mundo. Me faz lembrar daquela figueira à beira do caminho para Betânia: Linda árvore, mas sem frutos. Jesus a amaldiçoou e ela secou-se desde a raiz. Ei preste atenção, o machado está a raiz da árvore e aquela que não produzir frutos será cortada e lançada no fogo! O fruto é importante, pois traz em si as características da árvore que o produziu. Por isso é que o Senhor JESUS disse: Pelos frutos os conhecereis! O fruto que produzimos é o testemunho que damos ao mundo de que somos de Cristo, e que somos imitadores de Cristo, por isso somos chamados Cristãos. Testemunhamos isso pela nossa maneira de viver. Mas se enchemos o nosso coração com as preocupações com as coisas deste mundo, o nosso testemunho será afetado!
